What a great time it is to be working and living in Charlotte USA - 2-20-18

What a great time it is to be working and living in Charlotte USA!

The Partnership is moving full speed ahead into a successful 2018, spurred by the record number of new projects brought into our pipeline to close out 2017. Among the most notable projects recently landed:

·        NN, Inc. global headquarters relocation which is bringing in 200 jobs and $10 million in investment.

“NN, Inc., (NASDAQ: NNBR) a diversified industrial company, today announced that it will relocate its global headquarters to Charlotte, North Carolina from Johnson City, Tennessee. The move supports NN's strategy of building a diversified industrial business through improved access to customers, the availability of advanced infrastructure and enhanced logistics.”  (PRNewswire)

·        Dhollandia with 150 jobs and $30 million in investment.

“A Belgium-based manufacturer will build its first U.S. manufacturing plant in Bessemer City, creating some 150 to 200 local jobs. Dhollandia MFG, LLC, a privately-held, family-owned manufacturer of hydraulic lifts for trucks and other vehicles, intends to begin building its some 160,000-square-foot advanced production facility and corporate office in the South Ridge Business Park in 2018.” (Gaston Gazette)

·        Oerlikon Metco with 93 jobs and $62 million in investment

The Swiss manufacturer Oerlikon Metco plans to spend $62 million to open a facility in Huntersville, where it will create 93 high-paying jobs over the next five years.

The new plant will specialize in end-to-end advanced component manufacturing, and it will also house research and development work …. Pay will vary by position, though the average salaries for the new Charlotte-area jobs will be $93,011…..”(Charlotte Observer)

Thanks to your support and our small but mighty hardworking staff, we are securing economic development projects bringing in thousands of jobs and multi-millions of dollars in investment across our region.

Speaking of ‘thanks’, we are going to do just that in a big way at our signature recognition event on March 20. Our annual Jerry Awards event, launched in 2007, honors two organizations each year for their significant and ongoing contributions to the regional economy.

I hope you will join us as we congratulate and spotlight the 2018 Jerry Award winners- The Charlotte Knights and Lincoln Harris. These two stellar organizations have made wide ranging positive impacts to Charlotte USA and we’re looking forward to this opportunity to showcase their work and show our appreciation for all they do in our communities and our region. Each year the home of the Charlotte Knights, BB&T Ballpark, hosts 70 Knights games, college baseball games, exhibition baseball games and hundreds of outside events. Lincoln Harris takes great pride in its reputation as one of the region’s most accomplished full-service commercial real estate companies.

We are also looking forward to expressing our gratitude to you and everyone involved in supporting the work of our Partnership and making Charlotte USA unmatched as a place to live and work.

Make sure to get your tickets to the Jerry Awards right away so you don’t miss out on this gathering of our region’s foremost public and private sector leaders. Click here to register

We look forward to seeing you there!
