Directions: From I-85 – both North and South bound.
Visitors using I-85 to get to Charlotte should take the exit for I-77 south off of I-85. Once on I-77, follow the directions as noted below.

I-77 South bound – from Lake Norman area

  • I-77S to Exit 9
  • Exit right on Exit 9B – John Belk Freeway.
  • Remain in the right lane.
  • Take Exit 1E – College Street.
  • At the top of the ramp, merge onto College Street.
  • Continue on College Street through the intersection of E. Stonewall Street and the signal at the Convention Center.
  • Turn right at the next signal – Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
  • Cross the rail track.
  • Turn right onto Brevard Street.
  • Remain in the left lane. Turn left into the parking deck in this block.


US 74 – Wilkinson Blvd – from the Charlotte Douglas International airport

  • Continue eastbound on Wilkinson Blvd. as it will merge into and change names to I-277.
  • Remain in the right lane after the road changes names to I-277.
  • Take Exit 1E – College Street.
  • At the top of the ramp, merge onto College Street.
  • Continue on College Street through the intersection of E. Stonewall Street and the signal at the Convention Center.
  • Turn right at the next signal – Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
  • Cross the rail track.
  • Turn right onto Brevard Street.
  • Remain in the left lane. Turn left into the parking deck in this block.

 

I-77 North bound – from South Carolina

  • I-77 N to Exit 9
  • Exit right on Exit 9B – John Belk Freeway.
  • Once you merge onto John Belk Freeway, move to the far right lane.
  • Take Exit 1E – College Street.
  • At the top of the ramp, merge onto College Street.
  • Continue on College Street through the intersection of E. Stonewall Street and the signal at the Convention Cente.r
  • Turn right at the next signal – Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
  • Cross the rail track.
  • Turn right onto Brevard Street.
  • Remain in the left lane. Turn left into the parking deck in this block.


US 74 – Independence Blvd – from Union County

  • As you approach the Uptown Area, move to the left lane.
  • Exit left onto John Belk Freeway.
  • Exit right at Exit 1E onto Stonewall Street.
  • Turn left onto Stonewall Street.
  • Pass the building and Brevard Street; continue to College Street.
  • Turn right onto College Street.
  • Continue through the signal at the Convention Center.
